Baby Shower Fun

A friend of mine recently had a baby shower.  On the invite, guests were asked to bring a bead.

At the shower, the beads were strung on stringing wire.  The mom-to-be said she planned on hanging it above that baby's sleeping area.

Make it meaningful...TODAY!  If you're like me, it might become very easy to go day to day expecting that everything is the same old same old and that things aren't really going to change that much.  The people you've grown accustomed to having in your life will always be there, your children won't grow up behind your back or  that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will wait for you while you clean the house,  go to work and run your errands.  And then something happens to challenge your perspective or rock your world and for a short time you develop an appreciation for those special meaningful relationships and the entire miracle of life.  

When this happens to me,  I wonder why it took an "event" or an "episode" to change my outlook. 

My point is...it's the little and consistent  actions, the intentional kind words, the patience or compassion we show to others, the happy energy we project, everyday,  that makes the difference.  I think we all know that the occasional "grand jesture" is much easier than the daily maintenance of relationships and I must admit, I am very guilty of this and coincidentally, feel  guilty about it as well. 

So, let's stop this right now!  Take some time TODAY to tell those significant others what they mean to you.  Make it meaningful and specific.  It's easy to say:  "you've changed my life", however, sitting down with your significant other and describing how their love and support has made your accomplishments possible, or how they've provided a safety and security that you didn't even know existed will not only bring you closer together you'll both feel terrific about this intimate exchange of feelings
