Special thanks to Kathy C. of Tooele, Utah for this jewelry making tip.  She shows us how to  customize the length of a  bracelet - without frustration.  Whether you were blessed with very slender wrists, or you just prefer your bracelet to hang in a certain way, personalized lengths are something that you just can't get "off the shelf".

As you already know, even hooking a bracelet can sometimes be a challenge.  When you want to check the length of your bracelet (just before you secure the end with a crimp) keeping your beads on the open end at the same time can create a double challenge.

To avoid this frustration, thread the unfinished end of the wire through the jump ring or clasp that you started with.  (see photo)  This jump ring will help hold the beads on the wire, while giving you a "cinch point" to gently pull against as you test your length.

Look for more jewelry making tips in upcoming issues of "Jewels".

Good Luck, and may all your jewelry making be fun!
